In December 2020 I received course five feedback from OCA Tutor – it is now presented in listed paragraphs on the themes of the OCA learning criteria. Once I had adjusted to the different presentation format I again found areas which really stood out in helping to see how necessary it is to try and ensure how the work is relevant and up to date for the chosen client group. Particular issues are using resources in keeping to a particular generation and audience. This can be helped by continuing to “compare and contrast” with solutions in working illustrator’s examples.
Also the feedback re-iterated how necessary it is to be careful and aware where brand names may slip into the work . I shall therefore return to the Editorial exercise in part five and re-adjust one of the elements to remove brand initials.
Generally the feedback overall also reminds that in a sense students and any professional work together – to avoid public errors and for continued improvement then collaboration and team working is helpful.
I like the idea of trialing further college work for packaging representation. In a sense there are many areas I can continue to investigate further even though the course is complete eg. further reading on typography, graphic design, poster formation and practice of IT illustration packages.
The fact that I have been able to study this course is due to a programme of “teamworking” from course-writers, educators, Tutors, IT specialists, administrators, students, etc. and it is always good to receive the congratulations card – a beautiful painting by a level one student of a held orange/pear and it certainly feels “fruitful” to have completed part five and be able to submit the work for assessment.
Today is January 23rd 2021 and I have submitted Key Steps in Illustration coursework for assessment by:-
Uploading all five Tutor feedbacks on to the OCA GDrive link.
Completing the content form provided on the OCA GDrive link
Providing OCA with the password and link for this wordpress site by writing it on the Content form on the GDrive link
Writing a Reflective review of the course in less than 750 words & uploading this on the Gdrive link.
