Here a few famous faces selected as a starting point for this exercise:-
Film Stars:-

Sport personalities:-

Attorney’s and politicians:-

. I am not sure which TV programme this next photo comes from — Robin Hood may be. However it looks interesting to explore and then Mary Berry who is such an inspiration :-

So beginning with the Robin Hood linked individual, some sketches:-

It felt almost impossible to try a drawing from the side or looking to the right, so I resorted to a few facial expressions with limited success:-

It seems difficult to get her to smile ! however a line portrait version feels partially successful. :-

The Mary Berry portrait is approached in the same way as an exaggerated line sketch:-

Then another one with a doodle to the right:-

Suddenly there emerges the Queen of Hearts. This is just fun, drafting a pinafore and kitchen clogs, who bakes the cookies and runs out of the kitchen:-

I would like to work this more in colour however presently the fourth assignment is due. On initially tackling this exercise it felt like sure defeat so it is good that a character has emerged that can be further developed.
Further work (following coursework four completion):-
30 November 2020 revisiting this exercise to complete the character in water- colour. It may have been the knave in the story .
We all love Mary Berry so it is positive to have selected her photo as a start. I am sure most people would love to be able to cook like her too. Perhaps that is where the heart has come from in the imagery. This is not a cartoon of anyone though, rather the exercise is learning the process of creating some kind of character.

It might be interesting to place this character in the 1950’s kitchen:-

And then to complete some tidying up of the design on the computer:-
