So October has arrived and as a sort of “treat” for reaching this part of the course I am purchasing some lovely art materials (after all it helps the economy !). These will renew supplies and also result in further experimentation of use of different materials. The list includes:-
Drawing paper A3/A4 and some sketching paper.
Gouache paints (similar to acrylics, however not something I am familiar with)
Size 8 and 10 brushes
Posca markers (apparently these are lovely to use and very versatile for paper, textiles, glass, wood etc).
Felt tip pens
Round paintbrush set
Watercolour brush pens (not tried these before)
Graphite drawing pencils
With regard to Adobe Creative OCA Tutor support and feedback reminded that OCA IT may be able to offer advice on this. And indeed OCA IT have provided some IT links to follow to gain an understanding of these design packages.
I am also booking onto two Eventbrite events:-
Introduction to Adobe Illustrator (26th October 10-4 pm )
Introduction to Adobe Photoshop (9th November 10-4 pm)
Although I did complete a short college course on Photoshop in January 2019, it was before I started the illustration course with OCA and I would like to revisit training now I appreciate the relevance to illustration.
I find the OCA coursework designed into grouped exercises of modules useful as the OCA feedback and spacing of the course allows for insights and looking afresh at areas to develop. So it is with renewed steps and encouragement that I head towards the IT training and Part Five studies.
